Jayden Daniels has been drafted by the Washington Commanders with the #2 overall pick in the 1st round.

The
quarterback comes from LSU where he was a starter for 2 years

In 2022, Daniels clinched the esteemed Charles McClendon MVP Award from his team, fueled by an impressive tally of 3,592 yards in total offense, ranking as the third-highest in the school's annals. The following year marked another milestone as Daniels etched his name in FBS history, becoming the inaugural player to achieve a remarkable feat: amassing a minimum of 350 passing yards and 200 rushing yards in a single game, a feat accomplished against the Florida Gators. Shortly after, he left a trail of awe by notching eight touchdowns in total against the Georgia State Panthers. His exceptional prowess on the field led to the ultimate honor—the Heisman Trophy—making him only the third LSU player to claim this prestigious accolade, following the footsteps of legends Billy Cannon in 1959 and Joe Burrow in 2019.

Furthermore, a slew of other awards adorned Daniels' illustrious journey, including the Walter Camp Award, AP College Football Player of the Year, SN Player of the Year, Davey O'Brien Award, Manning Award, and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. An innovative approach to training saw Daniels leveraging custom virtual reality headset software, which he credited for honing his decision-making prowess on the field. Notably, he etched his name in the annals of college football history by being the first player to accumulate career totals of 12,000 yards passing and 3,000 yards rushing.
